Jon & Kate. . . Too Late?

FYI: I did not write this click the link below to read who wrote it and more:

To Jon and Kate. . . I don't regularly watch your show. I've seen bits and pieces as I channel surf, and sometimes I stop to watch just to see,
I did, however, see the recent clip where you, Kate, lamented what's happening through your tears. According to my newspaper, so did ten million other people. You expressed confusion and said you didn't know what to do. I know you're smarter than that. . . you have to be. Here's what you need to do. . . and I believe you know it. . . pull the plug. Pull the plug and pull it now.

Busy Weekend - Can I take a break?

This weekend went by quick but also pooped me out. Friday my hubby went to get a new fish to replace the one that died the day before for my boy. He bought a 25 gallon tank and not one but two fish. Oy Vey! The boy decided he would give one to his lil sister how sweet! Late Saturday night Lil Sis fish died :( How sad! The boy thought it was sleeping until he saw daddy take it out, put it in a bag and in the FREEZER!!!! Yes I said Freezer! Yuk!

So now Sunday afternoon the Oldest (13) had a soccer game in Bradford PA and was starting goalie only let 1 goal in but DH said she rocked. I missed the game I stayed home one to package orders up from my sale and clean house. I check out the new fish tank with now one fish left and hes not doing so good... Ugh! 3 fish in one week.... Husband comes home and the fish is dead. Poor fishes, so here we go fish 2 in the freezer. How gross!

Poor Garfield

Poor Lil Garfield died last night.. I was only trying to be a good mother by cleaning the cloudy water ... not too hot not too cold just the right temp but no one told me that you weren't supposed to clean the water from a fish tank!!!

About an hour later the oldest came around and saw Garfield at the bottom of the tank not looking too good and realized he had died. Poor fish he was a happy fish always swimming and swimming some more....

RIP Garfield

A boy and his fish

Went to the Dairy Festival today to see all the totally rocking rides....

There was only 2 rides for the oldest and about 6 crap rides for the boy and lil sis. Not fun but very expensive.

The boy and lil sis went on a few rides together ... lil sis screamed when each ride ended and daddy had to go in and take her out and pry her hands away. She did go fishing with the small fishing pools each one wins a prize. She was more excited about the shark she pulled out rather than the stuffed animal... like we need another stuffed animal.

The boy won a bunch also from throwing darts and tossing for a fish. We spent $5.00 for 35 balls and not one went into the fish bowl.. seeing how it was the last day of the festival he gave the boy one.

We named him Garfield.... they played together laughed together and he even sang his fish a song. How sweet!! Only one tap of food for Garfield each day otherwise he may get too big for his tiny cookie far I used to put him in.

Craft Show!

Well there was tons and tons of people there... the weather was AWESOME could not have had a better day. A little windy some tents blew over, a lot of my paper crafts blew away without damage. I was in a perfect location right on the sidewalk where pretty much everyone had to pass me to get to the rest of the show, there was about 30 booths....
It cost me $40.00 to have a booth. I spent 3 weeks making lots of goodies, everything from cute blank note cards, Xmas cards, Halloween cards, Gift Tags in every flavor. Cute handmade scrapbook embellishments, paper posies, large flowers, cupcakes. I made gift card holders which by surprise were a hit. I had handmade journals with chipboard and binded them all up. My collage sheets and some atcs to show art. My magazines lots of other scrapbook or ART embellishments from K&Company..... 3 long 8 foot tables full to the max... I ran out of space so had to keep some stuff in the boxes until I had more room. I Also had some coasters I made and some really cute magnets. I had so much stuff. Everything was labeled and tagged and had pretty ribbon and bows wrapped around it.. its about presentation if its looks cute and pretty its more appealing tot he eye to buy... RIGHT??
Craft Show started at 9 am it started out HOT I made $35.00 before noon and WAS so excited wow can I keep selling? Guess what? NOPE! Not one sale after that. It sucked so bad I was so embarrassed people walk by me and roll their eyes, ask what is this and I say its a handmade scrapbook embellishments (with a huge grin so proud of myself I made these cute flowers) they say O I can buy these at Joann's... WHAT? No these are handmade by ME much better than Joann's and such. No thanks! How can people be so rude. I had one woman walk INTO my booth and look around and say to her darling husband "O more junk" UGH! I cringed trying to hold back myself from slapping her!!! I had posters up about handmade items come from the heart and are made with love. A cute banner I made and printed about PID and my etsy.
I had the worse weekend of my life! I was embarrassed, depressed all day got SEVERE sun burn ended up being sick from it and its peeling already from Saturday. It was just awful.... some do not understand handmade items I guess they just wanted to buy the china made that others buy and resell for 3 times as much. It ended at 6 I Called my husband at 5 please come and get me, I cannot stay here any longer. He came and felt so bad for me I cried about it Yes I know lame but I spent so much time on my goodies everything was handmade by moi minus a few stamps and K&Company

Get inspired with these easy tips

Get inspired with these easy tips

Ideas can come at any time, and in the strangest places. It’s true that sometimes inspiration can strike out of the blue, maybe one of those sleepless middle-of-the-night flashes of genius that, when you think about it again in the cold light of day, isn’t always quite as impressive or indeed entirely practical. Before you launch yourself into fabrics and threads, you need an idea with which to work.

Here are a few tips for getting inspired and making your dream quilt a reality.

  1. Take time to think. Sometimes the idea that gets things going is more important to the development of a quilt than the time that will be spent actually making it. Draw, paint, and make lists in a sketchbook. Make basic design decisions. Bounce ideas off a trusted friend. Sometimes just telling someone about an idea can clarify it in your mind.
  2. Choose a subject. Ideas can come from almost anywhere. Once you have trained your eyes to see beauty and inspiration in everyday objects and places, it will become second nature to spot their potential. Study a favorite precious object up close. Sometimes inspiration can be an event or experience rather than a single object.
  3. Explore your theme. Although processes and products are vital to the success of any quilt, ideas are also valuable. Consider researching and developing your idea as a journey of discovery and don’t worry too much about the outcome. Brainstorm through photos, sketches, collected images, and objects.
  4. Team up. The creative process is often a solitary activity, but you may find that interacting with others on projects is enjoyable. Join a quilt group and set group challenges where collaboration is the key.
  5. Set a goal. Sometimes having an external deadline can be fun. You may find that you are tackling something completely new and outside of your normal comfort zone, or find something that initially didn’t fire your enthusiasm turns out to be enjoyable.

Progress Is Beautiful… Change Has Come…

I just have to blog about today's inauguration… this has been an amazing day for sure!!!

The people the nation coming together as one… its amazing how one man can make this all happen. Even with all the controversy if that's the right word. I did vote for Obama and am proud that I did. I did not vote for him because he was a black man. I voted because I believe in his views and where he stands, I do believe he can fix us, us as a nation. It just so happens he was black man running for presidency. I am hoping he can help me with my children's future I do have 4 of them. The president signed three documents soon after his swearing in Tuesday.

I saw a girl on my local Buffalo news today that said if he can be president she can be a nurse!! She is a black young girl who thought she had no future until today. How her whole idea of life changed right before her eyes.

Buffalo has a high poverty rate and there are so many people with no future, no job no nothing. Today that all changed for them.

A practically homeless man managed to raise enough money from Buffalo collecting pop cans, and holding his cup for months to get on a bus to see Obama sworn in. He could not get in the lines were too long but he made it to DC and that's all that mattered to him. He does not care if he makes it back to Buffalo where he has nothing he believes that he made it this far and Obama made that happen for him he can do anything. Update on him he has a job interview with a garbage company in Washington this week. How about that??

This life changing experience has changed my whole view on things. Honestly I do not believe he won because of his skin color I believe he won biased on his views and what he has said and DONE thus far, which happened to be coming from a black man. That's all I have to say about that!

President Obama renewed his call for a massive plan to stimulate economic growth.

The United States chose "Hope Over Fear"! President Barack Obama!
